Best Life receives STC ‘first dollar’

Best Life Veterinary House Calls has been helping central Upper Peninsula pets stay happy and healthy for almost one year now. Since opening in April 2020, their passion is to “provide compassionate pet care in the comfort of clients’ homes”.

Above, Bob Crumb, Schoolcraft Tourism and Commerce Board of Directors president, presents a “first dollar” to Jessica Columbus, owner of Best Life Veterinary House Calls, and Melonie Neadow, Best Life office manager.

Best Life Vet is owned and operated by Dr. Jessica Columbus, a native of the U.P., who graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and has been caring for animals ever since.

Her new mobile vet adventure services the Manistique area, Munising, Grand Marais, Newberry and even Rapid River. According to Columbus, this type of mobile pet service helps reduce stress levels for both pets and owners, while offering services such as wellness, illness, behavioral health, and much more.

Residents may have seen their branded “Best Life Vet Van”, which has a photo of Columbus holding a cat named “Sunny” and dog named “Viggo”.

Residents with pets in need of veterinary care may call Columbus at (906) 286-9048 or visit Best Life Veterinary House Calls website, www.bestlifevet.com, for more information.
