Dave’s Hometown Barbershop – opened since November 2017 – has been creating quite the buzz. The uniqueness of treatments and services reminds customers of an era gone by – the type of shop their grandfathers would have visited for a haircut and a shave.
Dave, the owner and barber of the one-man shop, is from the Lower Peninsula and fell in love with the small town of Manistique – the fresh air, lack of stop lights, and euchre-playing crowds.
While customers wait for their appointment or walk-in, they can enjoy complimentary coffee and freshly popped popcorn. The shop offers $10 cuts, $9 for seniors, and in-house services for customers who can’t make it to town.
He also honors the military community by serving up free cuts on Veterans Day.
Dave’s Hometown Barbershop is located at 330 Deer St. To make an appointment, call is (810) 287-8948.
The hours of operation are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
